Scope Black OPS GR - 9FT - 3LB

The Nash Scope Black OPS GR 9FT 3LB is a high-quality compact carp rod for anglers who want to combine the mobile nature of the Scope series with a highly advanced blank construction and premium components. The Black OPS GR series represents the highest specification level within the Scope family and is developed with 40T Japanese Toray carbon reinforced with Graphene.

This combination makes the blank lighter, slimmer, and stronger than previous Scope designs, while also providing faster recovery and a more direct, responsive feel. With a length of 9 ft and a 3 lb test curve, this model is particularly versatile and suitable for mobile fishing, smaller waters, bait boat fishing, and situations where a shorter rod offers more control than a traditional 12 ft model.

40T Japanese Toray carbon with Graphene

The heart of the Black OPS GR is a new blank construction made from 40T Japanese Toray carbon, reinforced with Graphene. Graphene is still relatively rare in carp rods and is mainly known from high-end competition rods where low weight, high strength, and sensitivity are crucial.

This material combination allowed Nash to develop a blank that is lighter and slimmer while increasing strength and responsiveness. This results in a refined and direct feel without losing the powerful character needed for modern carp fishing.

• 40T Japanese Toray carbon
• Graphene-reinforced construction
• Lower blank weight
• Slimmer blank profile
• High strength
• Faster recovery
• Improved sensitivity

Faster recovery and higher responsiveness

The renewed Black OPS GR blank returns faster to its original position after loading. This faster recovery reduces unwanted after-vibration and provides a tighter and more precise feel during casting.

During the fight, the blank clearly communicates, allowing you to maintain good contact with the fish and distribute forces evenly over the rod.

Refined Scope action

Nash has further refined the well-known Scope action to make the rod sharper and more precise in response. The goal was to maintain the versatility of the Scope series while elevating casting and fighting performance.

With this 9FT 3LB model, a good balance is achieved between compactness, casting power, and control. The rod is short enough for easy handling but still offers enough length to fish effectively at various spots.

Versatile 9FT 3LB model

The combination of 9 ft length and a 3 lb test curve makes this Black OPS GR highly versatile. It suits anglers who deliberately choose a more compact setup without resorting to a very short 6 ft rod.

• Suitable for mobile carp fishing
• Ideal for small and medium-sized waters
• Practical for bait boat fishing
• Handy in spots with limited space
• Great control during the fight
• Compact alternative to traditional long carp rods

ALPS CWG-AI reel seat

The rod features the premium ALPS CWG-AI reel seat. This reel seat combines a carbon insert with integrated rubber damping and two machined compression rings.

The design ensures a secure reel fit while remaining comfortable in hand. The construction matches the high-end Black OPS GR blank in appearance and materials.

• ALPS CWG-AI reel seat
• Carbon insert
• Integrated rubber damping
• Twin machined compression washers
• Secure and precise reel attachment

SeaGuide TCDG guides

The Black OPS GR 9FT 3LB is equipped with SeaGuide TCDG guides featuring Adaman coating. This coating is developed to reduce wear and groove formation during intensive use.

The guides have a high stand-off design for controlled line flow during casting. Specifically for the 9FT 3LB model, Nash uses a 40 mm starter guide tapering to a 12 mm anti-tangle tip guide.

• SeaGuide TCDG guides
• Adaman coating
• 40 mm starter guide
• 12 mm anti-tangle tip guide
• High stand-off profile
• Designed for efficient line management
• Extra protection against wear

12 mm anti-tangle tip guide

The 12 mm anti-tangle tip guide helps prevent the line from wrapping around the rod tip during casting. This supports smooth line flow and reduces the chance of issues during powerful casts.

PE knitted handle grip

The handle is finished with PE knitted material. This grip is designed for durability, comfort, and easy maintenance, fitting well with the rod’s modern, technical character.

• PE knitted grip
• Comfortable hold
• Wear-resistant finish
• Easy to clean

1K carbon line clip

An integrated 1K carbon line clip allows neat positioning of the line along the blank when the rod is resting on the rests. The carbon version also adds a subtle detail matching the rod’s premium finish.

Black OPS finish

The Black OPS GR is deliberately understated in finish. Matte black wrappings, matte black alignment markers, and embossed Black OPS branding create a sleek and technical look without flashy decorative elements.

• Matte black wrappings
• Matte black alignment markers
• Embossed Black OPS branding
• Minimalist premium finish

Machined metal butt cap

The rod’s butt end features a machined metal butt cap. With the included replaceable Butt Lock cap, the rod can be used in combination with Nash Scope Butt Lock Pegs.

• Machined metal butt cap
• Replaceable Butt Lock cap included
• Compatible with Scope Butt Lock Pegs
• Designed for extra security on rod rests

Important to know

The casting distance of up to 200 yards mentioned by Nash was achieved during internal tests with the 10FT 3.75LB model. This distance is therefore not a specified casting performance for the 9FT 3LB model.
