Scope Black OPS GR - 10FT - 3.5LB - CG Version

The Nash Scope Black OPS GR 10FT 3.5LB CG Version is a high-end compact carp rod from the absolute top segment of the Scope series. The Black OPS GR series combines the latest blank technology with carefully selected premium components and is designed for anglers who want maximum performance without losing the compact and mobile Scope character.

The blank is made from advanced 40T Japanese Toray carbon reinforced with Graphene. This material combination makes the rod lighter, slimmer, and stronger than previous Scope designs, while also providing noticeably faster recovery and a more direct response. The combination of 10 ft length and a 3.5 lb test curve offers plenty of power for solid casting and tougher conditions, while keeping the rod manageable.

40T Japanese Toray carbon with Graphene

The foundation of the Black OPS GR series is a new blank construction made from 40T Japanese Toray carbon reinforced with Graphene. Graphene is still relatively rare in carp rods and is mainly known from high-end competition rods where a combination of low weight, strength, and sensitivity is crucial.

This material combination allowed Nash to make the blank lighter and slimmer while simultaneously increasing structural strength and responsiveness. The result is a rod that reacts tight and direct during casting and offers plenty of control during the fight.

• 40T Japanese Toray carbon
• Graphene-reinforced construction
• Slimmer blank profile
• Lower blank weight
• High strength
• Faster recovery
• Improved responsiveness

3.5LB for extra power

The 3.5 lb test curve gives this 10 ft model a powerful blank suitable for solid casting and situations where heavier leads or extra pressure are needed. This makes it a good choice for anglers looking for a compact Scope rod without sacrificing much power.

• 3.5 lb test curve
• Suitable for heavier leads
• Extra power during casting
• Generous reserve during the fight
• Suitable for more demanding conditions

Faster recovery

A key feature of the renewed Black OPS GR blank is the higher recovery speed. After loading, the blank returns faster to its original position. This limits unwanted after-vibration and makes the rod feel sharper and more precise.

This faster recovery is especially noticeable during powerful casts and also contributes to a direct feel when playing a fish.

Refined Scope action

Nash has further refined the well-known Scope action to create a sharper and more precise blank. According to Nash, this development has resulted in the best performing Scope generation in terms of casting.

The 10FT 3.5LB model combines a compact length with enough power for solid casting and wide usability.

Compact 10FT model

With a length of 10 ft, the rod remains significantly more compact than traditional 12 ft carp rods. This makes it easier to handle on smaller swims, from a boat, and during mobile fishing, while the extra length compared to 6 ft and 9 ft models offers more casting range and line control.

• Compact 10 ft length
• Suitable for mobile carp fishing
• Practical on smaller and medium-sized waters
• Easy to handle from a boat
• More range than shorter Scope models
• Plenty of control during the fight

ALPS CWG-AI reel seat

The rod is equipped with a high-quality ALPS CWG-AI reel seat. This reel seat features a carbon insert, integrated rubber damping, and two machined compression rings.

The construction is designed to hold the reel firmly while remaining comfortable in hand during both casting and fighting.

• ALPS CWG-AI reel seat
• Carbon insert
• Integrated rubber damping
• Twin machined compression washers
• Secure reel attachment

SeaGuide TCDG guides

The Scope Black OPS GR 10FT 3.5LB is fitted with SeaGuide TCDG guides with Adaman coating. This coating is developed to reduce wear and groove formation during intensive use.

For the 10 ft 3.5 lb model, Nash uses a 50 mm starting guide tapering down to a 12 mm anti-tangle tip guide. The high stand-off profile of the guides contributes to efficient and controlled line flow during casting.

• SeaGuide TCDG guides
• Adaman coating
• 50 mm starting guide
• 12 mm anti-tangle tip guide
• High stand-off profile
• Designed for optimal line guidance
• Extra protection against wear and groove formation

12 mm anti-tangle tip guide

The ring setup ends with a 12 mm anti-tangle tip guide. This design helps prevent the line from wrapping around the rod tip during casting, supporting reliable line flow during powerful casts.

PE knitted handle grip

The handle features a PE knitted grip. This finish combines a comfortable hold with high durability and is also easy to keep clean after use.

• PE knitted grip
• Durable construction
• Comfortable hold
• Easy to maintain

1K carbon line clip

An integrated 1K carbon line clip allows the line to be neatly positioned along the blank when the rod is resting on the rests. The use of carbon visually matches the high-quality blank construction.

Black OPS finish

The rod is finished in the understated Black OPS style. Matte black wrappings and alignment markers are combined with subtle embossed Black OPS branding for a sleek and technical look.

• Matte black wrappings
• Matte black alignment markers
• Embossed Black OPS branding
• Minimalist premium appearance

Machined butt cap

The butt end of the rod features a machined metal butt cap. Additionally, a replaceable Butt Lock cap is included, allowing the rod to be used in combination with Nash Scope Butt Lock Pegs.

• Machined metal butt cap
• Replaceable Butt Lock cap included
• Compatible with Scope Butt Lock Pegs
• Extra options for secure rod positioning

Important to know

CG stands for Ceramic Guides – this means the guides will have thicker inserts. In the eyes of some anglers, this version is better suited for braided lines. For others, it is a cosmetic preference.

The casting distance of up to 200 yards mentioned by Nash was achieved with the 10FT 3.75LB model. Therefore, this distance does not apply as a stated casting performance for this 10FT 3.5LB CG Version.
